Fraudulent Policy

I received a letter from Sainsbury's Car Insurance telling me that the direct debit on my car insurance had not been paid. I do not have car insurance with them. On telephoning them I was told that this used my name and address but all other details were different as was the car. A week later I got another letter saying that the policy was being cancelled as I had not paid. I have telephoned and written to them several times but their attitude seems to be that the policy has now been cancelled for non-payment, that is the end of the matter and they do not care that I could be affected by this. No checks done on new policies then apparently! Reviewed on: 12th December 2020
