Friendly local service and good online banking.

Friendly local service and good online banking. Thankfully The Cumberland Building Society is one of the very few banks left in town and soon will be the last. It is appreciated for its branch availability, friendly staff, good range of savng products and great customer service. It is the best bank I have ever dealt with. Reviewed on: 29th January 2024

A bank that has an ethical approach at its heart.

A bank that has an ethical approach at its heart. Triodos is the only bank in the UK that I know of that offers ethical investments opportunities, a huge gap in the market for those with a Judeo-Christian faith or those with just a concern for their community, humanity and the environment. Friendly staff and local branches

Unlike the big banks that have largely abandoned customers, we are delighted to have a local bank that is open 6 days a week and where the staff seem happy to see you. Convenient current account and top ISA rate. Reviewed on: 20th January 2023

Friendly local branch teams

While most of the big banks have abandoned the market town of Cockermouth, The Cumberland Building Society has stayed open though economic downturn and Covid-19. We really appreciate the Cumberland's loyalty to the town and the friendly service from our local branch team., Thank you all. Reviewed on: 23rd March 2021

Ethical investment bank

This bank has great aims. It's ethical ISAs are good and have improved the clarity about with whom they are invested. Sadly the current account is not free unlike most British accounts, but like Dutch banks, charges a monthly fee to use my money! Reviewed on: 14th February 2021

Still there for us!

The Cumberland continues to provide an open door to welcome customers with a smile despite Covid and the difficulties of lockdown in 2020 and 2021. Cockermouth, for instance, has lost four banks in the last few years (Halifax, HSBC, NatWest and Lloyds). They have loss out to our regional bank which is there for customers 6 days a week with long opening hours each day. All credit to our fantastic Cumberland Building Society!
