Always rated out experience in branch. It may have been miles away, but as we live in a rural area it was to be expected. They were always friendly and very efficient. Now they've closed the branch we're thinking of switching to an internet only bank despite a great 30 year relationship. If we can only deal with RBS online, we may as well switch and get a golden Hello! from the many offers out there. Reviewed on: 8th January 2020

NOT cheaper at all!

Car renewal much more expensive than others, but told we'd save when 2nd car was added after it expired. 2nd car £100+ more than renewal, so assumed it was a mistake. Nope. Admiral insisted it was right and if we didn't take it we'd have to pay extra on 1st car as that had a discount applied on the basis we'd be insuring another. Reviewed on: 22nd September 2018

Branch staff always helpful

Second car "Discount" more expensive than renewal!

We bought Admiral car insurance despite it being more expensive than other quote as, we were promised when our second car was due it would be cheaper and we'd see big savings. Reluctantly we paid more, so were horrified when our 2nd car quote with Admiral was £100+ more than the renewal with the existing company. We were certain there must have been a mistake after their promises to save us money, but they were adamant that was the cost. hardly money-saving at all :( Obviously we declined paying an extra £100+ so they then billed us extra as they said we'd had a discount on the first car on the understanding we'd insure our 2nd car with them! Their representative on the 'phone could not see any problem with Admiral's behaviour :/ Reviewed on: 19th March 2016
