Crooks

My pension turned out to be worthless, wish I hadn't bothered. These folk are crooks or very bad at investing and therefore should work at something they're better at. Reviewed on: 23rd September 2018

we were made to take life assurance out with these jokers in order to secure a mortgage. later we sold the house and moved. The amount kept appearing on our statement even though the mortgage was paid off and we had moved to a different area. Eventually I rang them up and was told I haddn't paid for two months' so they'd cancelled it. I asked why they hadn't written to me as they said it was a life insurance policy. They said they'd written to the old address. Can't help thinking that they have had thousands off me for something I did not need or want but was made to have and that if they had seriously wanted to find me, i.e if it was a debt, they would have found me. Shady, not to be trusted when I see ther advert on TV it angers me all over again. No wonder people don't trust insurance companies and their products anymore. Reviewed on: 23rd August 2017

HSBC v Bitcoin

1
HSBC seem to reflect the dismal way that banks have conned us for years. Charging £12.50 per month to deal with standing orders, charging for business accounts. So many ways to con over the years'. When probate is over I will leave this ghastly crew and begin a new life with Bitcoin and Spanish property. Good riddance. Reviewed on: 31st March 2017

Stupid, childish bank manager.

1
When I first moved to London I found the Lloyds bank was right at the top of Kilburn High Road and I worked at the other end so I decided I would close the account and use Midland now HSBC instead. I had an interview with the bank manager who insisted he must keep I think it was £50 which was a lot to me in 1984 just in case I owed them money. I did not owe them had never owed them and I made this clear and asked him to look at my record for the decade before. He got very nasty and snooty and left me without any money for the rest of the month totally unnecessarily and as predicted had to return the entire sum. I was young, intimidated and have never changed my opinion of this bank or their pathetic boorish manager. Reviewed on: 15th November 2016

I bought two chinchilla persian kittens they were both adorable but within six months' one of them was dead. The boy kitten was by far the prettiest but he was also born very ill and only lasted till March. He was prescribed very expensive drugs by the vet which pet plan paid for without any problem. they were fantastic throughout and even paid for the cost of the cat when he died, I cannot praise them enough. Don't do it.

When I was first married in the 80's we had home insurance we had everything we should have. My husband even had two pensions with these jokers. We thought they were a reputable firm. We were burgled and expected new for old which is what we were insured for. We got no where near the value of the goods they even asked if we had VAT stubs for foreign jewellery they were time-wasting charlatans. Since that one and only claim we have never insured our contents again, I don't like being robbed twice. Reviewed on: 1st August 2016

I bought two chinchilla persian kittens for my wife a boy and a girl. The boy was very pretty, prettier than the girl, and at first they were both thriving but within five months' the boy was dead. He had a rare and debilitating disease which left him breathless it was heartbreaking to see the girl become more and more dominant and he sleeping wherever and whenever he could, my hoodie hood being one favourite place. The look of fear in his eyes as he tried to catch his breath was heart-wrenching. Petplan paid for very expensive drugs and never once mentioned putting him to sleep, they even gave us money as recompense when we decided that it was all too cruel and tearfully asked the vet to end his short life. Insurance for for top up mortgage.

I moved out of my house and paid off the mortgage. Royal London cancelled the policy saying they had written to me, maybe they did, to the old address, then cancelled the policy. I was £7.5k out-of -pocket because they would not accept payment of missing premium. Greedy pigs. Reviewed on: 8th March 2016

I have been banking with HSBC since the 80's all of a sudden I have to pay them to deposit money into my business account. I would leave but cannot as I owe them money. They are the greediest and, I read, corrupt bank and I wish I could leave them forever. I don't know whether there is a less corrupt bank out there but I doubt if they can be worse than these charlatans. Reviewed on: 18th February 2016
