Makes my pension pot understandable

My work based pension feels like pretend money but L&G do a decent job of informing me how my pot is growing and performing and appear pretty darn trustworthy Reviewed on: 14th July 2020

I had a savings account with FD with a rate of 5% - amazing yes?! I could only save a max of £300 a month and after 12 months the account reverted to a regular (ie much lower rate of interest ) account but it was still very much worth doing. Reviewed on: 20th November 2019

Great 5% rate

Given the dearth of good savings accounts on the high street First Direct’s 5% offering is great. You can’t pay in more than £300 each month (for 12 months) which is a shame but this is still really helping me as a savings pot in the run up to going on maternity leave and having a reduced salary income. We have a very active cocker spaniel and twice in the last year have had to submit claims for his crashing through undergrowth injuries. Both times the claim was processed without a problem. Reviewed on: 27th August 2016

You can't get better than a 0% interest rate for a personal loan buy Santander have put the cherry on the cake by providing a really good (I.e. light touch) level of communication. I haven't been bombarded by post or emails which makes a pleasant change Reviewed on: 21st April 2016
