Good if you're in the black, bad if you're in the red

If you never go into your overdraft, Club Lloyds is a great account. The interest on your money isn't bad and you can opt into 'saving your change', which sees the account rounding up your spends to the nearest pound (build up a little pot by squirrelling away the difference in pennies). But if you dip into your overdraft (unless you have a pre-arranged fee-free one), you pay 1p daily for every £7 overdrawn (it used to be £8) for the first £1,500 alone. I was in the black for ages, while I saved for a deposit for our house. Now that's no longer in my account and we have a baby on the way, I am perilously close to tipping into my overdraft. However, I do get a text to let me know when I'm near that point... so that's helpful Reviewed on: 22nd November 2018

Slow, but they get there in the end

Getting a mortgage through Coventry Building Society was a bit laborious. After a quick start, the home buyers survey was conducted and reported on within a week - great! Week after week, we were promised to hear from CBS with an offer, but the offer didn't come for nearly a month. Everything else was ready to go, but the underwriter apparently forgot that he had a few queries that we never got asked. In the end, we got there and although it's early days with the mortgage, everything else has been smooth... Reviewed on: 17th July 2018

FORE!

Club Lloyds is great - I get nearly £10 a month just for having money in my current account AND my boyfriend gets a Golf magazine through the door every month as a perk (gifted from me). It shuts him up for a few hours - win win! Reviewed on: 15th November 2017

Sneaky saver and free treats!

I've been using my Club Lloyds current account for a few years now - and it works really well for me! Not only do I get a free magazine subscription (Golf Weekly, was my choice) but previously I've had free cinema tickets! And, which is better for me, I've opted into a small savings scheme, which sees all my spend rounded up, with the difference put into a separate account. I don't even notice it going, but by the end of the month I have £20-30 to spend on a little treat! The website is super easy to use, and they give me a breakdown of my spending so I know where I need to reduce spend if I need to. Oh, AND they give cashback spend with some companies when you opt in. Reviewed on: 7th November 2017

Solid performance and savings help

I've had the Club Lloyds Current Account for nearly two years - and it's been great! The interest on the balance is decent, in these low interest times. And if you 'save the change' it rounds up all spend to the nearest pound, putting the difference into a savings account of your choice. Those little bits soon add up, and I normally have around £20 at the end of the month to give myself a little treat. Oh, and some free cinema tickets, too - I'm saving mine for Deadpool 2! Sneaky savings

My Club Lloyds account has given me the option to round up all spending to the nearest pound, and puts the difference into a savings account, allowing me to save a little without realising it. At the end of every month, I have around £20 to treat myself! Reviewed on: 15th December 2016

Fair, reliable and friendly

I insured my car with Lloyds Bank - didn't give it a second thought after taking out the insurance, it was all very easy. Then, I had to scrap my car on the weekend *sob*. I nearly cried at the scrapyard, the poor old thing still drove perfectly, but the MOT would have cost too much. Anyway, I phoned Lloyds Bank to cancel my insurance. The adviser I spoke was really friendly and offered hims condolences. I didn't get charged an 'early cancellation fee', and even have £2.97 winging it's way to me as I had a week left of my policy! Woo hoo! Reviewed on: 19th September 2016

Secret savings

I joined Club Lloyds about a year ago, after having its 'normal' current account for decades - and it has really worked for me. One of the best things, I've found, is the 'save the change' feature. Every time I use my debit card, Lloyds rounds the payment up to the nearest pound and puts the difference in my savings account. It might not sound much, but by the end of each month those extra pennies mean I have saved around £20 without even noticing it! Every little helps (wait, that's the wrong brand!) Ticked the boxes for insurance comparison

OK, so the adverts are annoying (although certainly not THE most annoying of the price comparison websites), but if the product works then it's certainly worth doing. It's hard to know where to go first to compare insurance as there are so many companies out there. Although I try to be as savvy as possible, it can be overly time consuming to repeatedly fill out your information on multiple sites. But I found the website to be clean, efficient AND I saved money. It turns out, I am sooooooo MoneySupermarket. Reviewed on: 26th April 2016
