Appalling customer service

Today I had the most frustrating conversation with a stroppy customer service representative who decided it was my responsibility that their IT system had lost the information regarding registration of a power of attorney which I had submitted several years ago and that I would need to submit documents through a local branch for a third time in the last three months. No hint of an apology for their incompetence. Furthermore he tried to tell me the branch would have no idea about what was requested. Seems he was unaware of the bar code scanner that post office branches have to link with saving account letters. Not knowing backside from elbow springs to mind. This conversation followed an earlier call in which another customer service agent put me on hold for over fifteen minutes whilst she spoke to her manager before hanging up on me. I cannot get this account closed soon enough. Reviewed on: 15th November 2021
