No issues so far but app needs a serious update!

I joined nationwide with their flex direct because at the time they were offering 5% interest on in-credit accounts which is a great incentive to stay out of my overdraft however having a fee free overdraft for the first year was a comforting buffer for someone that's had a huge free overdraft and a student account for years. The switch from my bank was easy, happened without a hitch and I had plenty of communication through text, email and mobile post to explain each step. Letters were necessary and not too much and everything arrived promptly. The only issue I had was setting up my online account as I was keen to do it ASAP and it wouldn't let me due to not setting up the needed information previously (I didn't have the opportunity). A quick call to customer service sorted it. I got through with ease and received friendly and straightforward help. I love that I can get cashbook rewards when activated similar to my old bank account however wish that this was part of the app! My only gripe with the account is that it seems a bit out of date and simplistic. I've come from using one that not only allows me to manage my account but links me to rewards, all products and several other features. I feel the nationwide app needs a bit update as there aren't as many branches as some banks so most dealing are online! Reviewed on: 8th November 2017
