Call for the 'best' renewal price

3
I had my renewal notice for my car and it had gone up 62% I shopped around and found better prices. When I called them they immediately undercut the cheapest one I had found on comparison sites Still an increase on last year but better than overpaying. Reviewed on: 23rd August 2023

Good if you don't need a branch

I opened a FlexDirect account as it got interest without charges. Manage it through the app or online as intended. Never been into a branch or called to discuss it. Interest rates wiped out with the pandemic and sadly still there even though things are more 'back to normal' Reviewed on: 2nd February 2023

cannot share a joint account

We had a joint credit card account with Yorkshire Bank for many years. We were told we had been sold to Virgin Money We cannot now both have access to the app (ITS A JOINT ACCOUNT) If I try to access it on my phone, my wife's phone gets a fraud alert and we are locked out. It worked perfectly well when it was with YB and we had the credit card account linked to our current account but Virgin Money don't allow that, you need a separate app for current accounts and credit cards. Absolutely no joined up thinking and not a good service. Reviewed on: 2nd February 2023

getting no better

I was with Yorkshire Bank for over 40 years and then they just told me I was now a Virgin Money customer! I have found Virgin Money to be unhelpful and/or uninformed on every contact. There is no 'Customer Service' to speak of and I am looking to change banks soon. Reviewed on: 2nd February 2023

poor poor service

I have a BTL mortgage. My deal was ending and TMW had a good offer on. Started the process and forced to use their conveyancing (ENACT) Worst experience ever and TMW were not interested. Enact sent forms by email which needed to be filled in by hand even after being told I had no printer Enact makes you use their portal, which they don't appear to use themselves. The person listed as 'my conveyancer' was never available. Every email was answered by a different person. Enact said WE had missed the completion date - we did not know they had even set one - even though they had previously said we had supplied everything we had to.. Enact managed to find charges to claw back every penny of my cashback deal - Sorry, they sent me a nice letter saying 1p would be donated to charity for me as they don't send cheques under £10! ITS MY MONEY!!! I'LL DECIDE WHAT I DONATE TO CHARITY NOT YOU! Contacted TMW to complain - no help and no resolution 2 months later. Reviewed on: 10th March 2022

Going down fast

I have banked with Yorkshire Bank for over 40 years. They have now decided they do not want my business and moved my account to Virgin Money. No reasoning has been given. Their Customer Services used to be OK, if sometimes a little hard to understand with the Scottish accents. They closed my local branch and told me to use another, then closed this and told me to use a 3rd, then just closed this one without telling me! My current and credit card accounts were visible together on the website and app, I now have to have 2 different apps, with different log in details, to see what is happening. I used to ping money direct from my current account to my credit card, I now have to set it up as a separate payee. I seriously doubt this bank will be around much longer.
