My insurance was cancelled for not supplying evidence of my no claims bonus, despite the fact that I had emailed this to them prior to the provided deadline. Upon contacting them as soon as I was notified of the cancellation I was told that my sent email was not evidence and that they could not reverse the cancellation.
I was also told that I would lose the full cost of breakdown cover which I took out with them.
After speaking to a manager and lodging a complaint they agreed to reimburse me for the cost of the breakdown. However, this did not resolve the fact that I was left uninsured so unable to drive my car home, and I now need to declare that I have had insurance cancelled for any future insurance policies.
The entire process was ridiculous. I am only grateful that I didn't have to make a claim through them, because I can only imagine how incompetent their handling of a claim would be.
I can honestly say that this was the worst service I have ever experienced. They refused to accept responsibility of their error and I have been the one who has paid.
The only recommendation I would make about Tesco Car Insurance is to avoid them at all costs.
