Excellent!

I have held a current account with Smile for over 10 years. Whilst I understand it is very easy to switch bank accounts and that there are plenty of incentives to do so, I have no intention of closing my Smile account. I find the website easy to navigate in terms of checking my account, setting up regular payments, making one-off payments and payment transfers. Furthermore, when required (which is rarely), I have always found customer service to be excellent, providing prompt and effective responses. Highly recommended! Reviewed on: 5th July 2017

Reliable pension provider but not very transparent

I held FSAVC pension with Legal and General before I transferred it to Hargreaves Lansdown in March 2014. Whilst my pension grew in value whilst held with Legal and General, the only limited information available to me regarding performance was the annual statement sent out by post. In addition, the charges were not clear. By contrast, my pension is now held as a SIPP with Hargreaves Lansdown where I have complete flexibility in terms of reviewing investment performance, investment deals, etc. and all charges are entirely clear. Whilst I had no major complaints with Legal and General, I do regret not initially building up my pension within a SIPP with Hargreaves Lansdown. Reviewed on: 5th July 2017

Excellent online platform and customer service

I hold 3 accounts with HL: a share and fund account, a stocks and shares ISA and a SIPP. I have always found the online platform very easy to navigate whether this is checking the performance of my investments or placing deals. It is very rare that I have had any queries or issues but when I have done I have always encountered prompt and effective customer service. Finally the website contains a wealth of historical and current information and news to inform investment planning. HL are highly recommended. Reviewed on: 5th July 2017
