Online banking is easy enough for those with the facilities and skills, but there are no rural branches open now in our area and in-person banking is impossible for ill or elderly, especially with appalling public transport. Many of us still use cheques, do not use mobiles and have little aptitude with the internet.

Previously had a savings account which had less than £50 in it, lying dormant for a couple of years. Desperate for funds, went to take out the cash, was told that charges had depleted the funds to zero.
