Basic But Reliable

The service has been glitchy in places with transfers not completing or being "lost" and needing to contact customer services, but these were rectified swiftly and compensation was offered. However, if you're in a travel situation this might have been difficult to do and could have affected the travel. Value for money is pretty spot on and as a no-frills service it'd be useful to give to a son or daughter going travelling that you could top up from a distance and they could move the money as they went across borders. But Revolut and Monzo much more flexibility and additional services on top without being locked in to the balance staying on the WeSwap card. Reviewed on: 26th January 2018

Unbeatable Value

Compared to other challenger banks, Tide is a goodie, but compared to other commercial banking incumbents it absolute rocks. The fees alone are worth swapping to tide for, let alone the no-nonsense user interface and simple functionality like transfers and payments. Only things that keep me from raving entirely are that categories for transactions are not always remembered or intuitive, the integration with Xero is overbearing rather than particularly helpful, and configurable push notifications for significant figures would be lovely. Phenomenal Value for Money

When other banks and online services not only make foreign transactions complicated and/or expensive or obfuscate the process and fees on top of that, TransferWise does all of this as well as providing the means to manage foreign currency in new and enabling ways. Being able to create and maintain foreign currency accounts in destination countries is mind-blowingly useful both as an individual and from a business perspective. Coupled with services like Stripe and non-fee charging challenger banks like Starling or Tide, it leaves competition behind in the dirt. Reviewed on: 26th January 2018

Fantastic Challenger

All the basics are done smoothly, the UI for the app is uncluttered, no-nonsense and without attempting to be "cool" like other challengers like B from Yorkshire Bank are trying to be. Reviewed on: 26th January 2018
