I have banked with HSBC for many years and find that banking has become a lot easier in recent years with online banking and apps, both of which are easy to use with HSBC. HSBC branches are widespread making it easy to pop into a branch if needed, however I have found recently that if you go into a branch with a query they direct you to telephone banking. This is my biggest gripe with HSBC as the telephone banking service is awful and I dread needing to contact them by phone. The service is clearly based abroad and it always seems to be a terrible line making conversations extremely difficult and frustrating. Several negative experiences with this have left me looking at switching banks, it's only because I've been with HSBC for so many years that I haven't yet made the switch but I'm sure there are better services out there.

I have had a very positive experience with Tesco both in relation to credit cards and personal loans. Transactions have always been dealt with quickly and efficiently and the customer service is excellent.
