Unhelpful when claiming

I arrived home tonight to a flooded house which resulted in no electricity downstairs. In darkness and unable to cook for my three children. Water pooring from the ceiling and flooded kitchen and bathroom floors. After having to call the claim line three times as I kept getting put on hold for ages as they check what to do I was told this was not an emergency situation and would have to wait for an underwriter to call in next 48 hours. So I'm left with no electricity downstairs and therefore unable to cook until they contact me and decide what to do. Being a single parent with three children and having never claimed in all my years and always paid annually for best cover available I find this very disappointing and will definitely look to change companies next year. Hopefully they get their finger out and get this sorted quickly to put my house back to as it was as quickly as possible. Reviewed on: 11th October 2016
