Claim Hell

2
Wife reversed car into a supermarket sign, damage to rear bumper and side light, took a year to resolve the claim and constant pressure to get the excess back via Go Compare (£250) It took around 15 months to sort out, first time I had to make a claim on Car Insurance and I would not want to go through that again , not sre why it took so long as there were no other parties involved. Needless to say at rewal the price increased signicantly , but alas they were still the cheapest I could find , so stuck with them for another year. Frustrating Claims process and disapointing considering they are one of the UK's largest Insurance Groups. Reviewed on: 23rd August 2023

Excellent Performer and rewarder

Two Savings products which are both above the UK Average for Savers , and the Account also pays out a generous interest rate on the Current account itself. I have also opted into receiving a free film credit of my choice each month from Rakuten. Very Happy so far Reviewed on: 9th March 2023

Signed up with Amex AviosCredit Card to use with Costco

5
I have used Amex Credit Cards sparingly in the past, such as the Nectar Card when I shopped more for the points. They work well with promotions like these, but the only problem experienced is a lot of the smaller traders still do not accept them due to the excessive charges. However the rewards have added up nicely and use where ever accept them! The Family and I are hoping to use the saved Avios Points towards our dream Holiday in Brazil. We have about half the flight already paid for! Well worth using for the great rewards programs. Reviewed on: 4th January 2017

Complaint settled fairly and compensated.

5
I had a complaint regarding my Current Account slipping into the red for about 3 days and being charged for being over drawn despite having savings in my Account. Normally I would have received a text reminder on my mobile, however I had just changed providers and so was unaware of this. The Customer Services Department for Halifax rang back my home phone to discuss the complaint at my request. They not only listened to my concerns and set up my new mobile number for future text alerts they also re reimbursed the overdraft fees and as a measure of good will they gave me a £10 Credit as well! Very impressed with the Service, It does not normally pay to complain! Reviewed on: 4th January 2017

Bank Charges applied on Current Account

3
Disputed with the Alliance and Leicester when i had a current account with them, (part of what is now under the Santander Umbrella) Despite never going over drawn by more than £20 I was charged £25 Standing fee for being overdrawn by about £20 for around 3 days, I stated and complained with the Bank that I made a simple mistake and as soon as i was aware of I placed money to get my account back in to the black. I received the response that they were not willing to pay back the charge and I would need to increase my overdraft to minimize the interest charges. This was before Mobile Banking really took off, circa 2006. Needless to say it was not long after that i closed down my account with them and transferred to another Competitor.. Stakeholder Pension with Aviva experience

4
I started a pension via Aviva through my workplace whom chose Aviva for their low charge Stakeholder Pension with lifestyle options. I have now contributed for the past three years directly from my Pay and I can simply log in via Aviva website to check on my latest Statement. A few times I required further information regarding my plan I have wrote to customer services via e-mail or instant chat and have always received a fast and useful response to my question. Overall a very simple and easy set up , friendly and with low management charges is perfec for me. Reviewed on: 6th November 2015
