Recently updated website is now contemporaneous but after getting locked out I received great service on the end of the phone (after getting straight through with almost no hanging on) from the Customer Contact Administrator at the Savings Direct team in Darlington. My (non!) grasp of technology

Being a technophobe, I totally messed up my login to the new Darlington website. This happened months ago and I have been putting off getting in touch with the Society via telephone, as I knew probably wouldn't understand, what I had to do. Simon answered my call and was very knowledgeable, helpful and polite, sometimes having to repeat some of the stages, but in the end he got me through it. Thank you Simon. Brilliant accommodating mortgage department

We need to change our mortgage repayments as we'd come to the end of a fixed payment period. Without the help of Paula and Ian we wouldn't have been able to make the changes that absolutely suited us. They are brilliant. Paula helped me to work out what could be done with our mortgage and advised me exactly what needed to be done and when. When Paula was on annual leave Ian also sorted out our mortgage payments and managed to find out an error my bank ahd made in a payment. If either of you read this you are wonderful, extremely competent and I think deserve a prize for sorting out our mortgage. You have all of our thanks Paula and Ian. Throughout our 3 years mortgage with DBS we have received nothing but the highest quality service. Unfortunately due to the cost of living crisis we have had to shop around for the best rates which is taking us away to another provider. However, we will be looking at DBS mortgage rates in the future and if they are competitive, we will certainly look to return. The service has been impeccable. Thanks for everything! We had a telephone consultation with Ann Walpole at Darlington B/scy, we have known Ann for some time now she is very professional and pleasant and was able to answer all of our queries and give us clear instructions to the next stage of the process, in all of our dealings with Darlington B/scy all of their staff go out of their way to help. I’ve been a customer for mortgages with DBS for 10 years now and they’ve always looked after me. I like that you can speak to people local and deal with the same person. There’s a personal touch that is lacking at bigger banks. Paula Marshall has dealt with my most recent application for a house move, porting the mortgage over and additional lending. She has been very helpful and kept me updated with progress. Paula has dealt with my case beyond my expectation. I appreciate how quickly the application was processed.
