I'm been a Halifax customer for some time, but in the last year I've noticed significant security issues with their banking offering and would strongly recommend using other providers.
- I had a significant amount of money taken from my account via a number of transactions in under 24 hours which they failed to alert me to / check if it was fraud (it was). In the same period a loan was also opened, again, at no point did they contract me to check my ID or check it was not fraud.
- Incorrectly sent out new card and pin numbers which I did not request
- Sent new bank card to the wrong address (an old one which I'd changed months ago with them).
- Failed to update my phone number when I changed phones, resulting in an old number still being incorrectly sent my balances, payments etc.
Their systems are a not adequate for protecting peoples money or savings.
