Requested an isa transfer from a cash ISA into lloyds stocks and shares ISA. After a while nothing had happened and no contact from Lloyds so rang. Told that the transfer request had been sent by Lloyds to sending bank bug they had no response so they had sent reminder. Rang the sending bank who said they hadn't received anything from Lloyds. Lo and behold 4 days later received letter from Lloyds saying they were still waiting for me to return the wet signature transfer form to them even though they had told me they had contacted the sending bank twice. When is online not online?

Opened online account. Very basic online offering with tortuous log on using awful system beloved of building societies rather than the one run by Newcastle Building Society and used by more competent organisations. Even though it was an online account insisted on sending a passbook by post. Some financial organisations need to move forward from the 1970s Reviewed on: 18th December 2023

Antiquated Building Society not in this century (or the last)

When is online not online? When it's Chorley Building Society. Very user unfriendly, slow, unhelpful online platform. The online platform they use is one that is used by most Building Societies but is hopeless and Chorley's use of it is dreadful. Despite having an online account they sent me a passbook. Changed my view from experience.

Their non-online online provision is dreadful. Online in name only. Can't open accounts online, only by paper. Can't transfer money automatically, has to be entered on-line then manually authorised. Can't download statements, have to ask for a paper statement to be posted. Claim to do electronic ISA transfers but don't as they have to send a form for you to sign when they get a transfer out request but it is never mentioned until the form arrives in the post (by the time they sent the form 2 other ISA transfers had been completed). If they send you a secure message they don't inform you that a message is there you have to log on to check. Abysmal online service not worth bothering with. Reviewed on: 20th April 2023

Superb Support and Customer Service from Carmarthen Branch

Don't live near a branch so opened an account with them through the Carmarthen Branch (by post and telephone). Absolutely superb support and customer service - the best I've experienced from any financial institution. Would highly recommend the Swansea Building Society and the Carmarthen Branch to anyone Reviewed on: 3rd March 2023
