I had very poor credit rating and First Response were the only ones to help me get finance. The first finance I got with them had an eye-watering APR but after paying it off and financing my next vehicle with them, they trusted me and gave me a near-high street rate despite me still having poor credit rating. They have treated me with kindness and respect where other lenders turned their noses up at me.

Their charges are shocking! I used to bank with RBS and they never charged me for failed Direct Debits, etc. Santander do. They love it! One month a mistake by a company meant they took a quadruple payment off my account using CPA (as a rule of thumb never use CPA always opt for DD) which meant there wasn’t enough in the account to meet five DDs so I got 5 x £15 (£75) unpaid DD fees which then put me into an unarranged overdraft which got me a further £12 fee! When I told Santander they didn’t care and said they won’t refund me the fees because I once had a separate £12 fee refunded a year previous! Avoid, avoid, avoid. There are plenty other high street banks around.

The APR is borderline insanity and the only reason I took it was because I have a junk credit file. However looking past the APR they are a very professional operation and they seem to care about their customers situations and will try to be flexible with payments when you are hard up.

Their products and services aren’t exactly going to light the heather on fire but they’re good enough and hopefully stable with no loss on the investment.
