Review of the Nutmeg, Stocks and Shares ISA:
View on product page

Good first time investor tool

5
I opened my first Stocks and Shares ISA through Nutmeg due to the association with Chase UK Bank. I had been planning to open a stocks and shares ISA anyway and it seemed convienient as you can link your accounts. Its slightly strange that despite the association with Chase you can't pay in through an easy bank transfer via Chase UK (Nutmeg blamed Chase UK for this and Chase UK blamed Nutmeg) but this doesn't stop you using the service. The app and website have useful tools for keeping track of your investments and there are a variety of funds to invest in and you can set your own risk appetite. The pre-investment 'quiz' was a useful tool for a first timer before setting up first ever investment pot. The one feature I'd like to see is an easier way to see the overall fund history, currently they display a graph of this on their website in the public facing side of the website under each type of funds but in the app or in the client facing side of the website you can only see the performance of your own investment rather than the fund history as a whole to compare with other options. The one time I had cause to telephone to answer a question I couldnt find answered in their Q&As my call with dealt with swiftly and professionally by a UK based call handler with full knowledge of the information required which I was particularly impressed by. Reliable, but potentially less rewarding

3
I joined HSCB for my first every current account and have held the account ever since. As one of the biggest banks they offer a full range of products and services which you can access through the app once you've created your current account, but the current account itself isnt as rewarding as other more recently current accounts on the market. As such I've retailed this current account for convienience- is is certainly reliable and in the case of any major problems there is the option to go in branch- but I use another account for day to day spending. Rewarding user friendly current account

Since joining Chase as a 'second' current account to keep track of day to day spending I've been extremely impressed with both the account and the app. The 1% cashback reward for the first 12 months is a great benefit, the round up feature a helpful savings tool and more recently they have decided to start paying interest on current account deposites in addition to their savings account. The app itself is easy to use, sign up was quick and straight forward and compared with my regular current account its much easier to track spending. Reviewed on: 13th March 2023

Extremely rewarding savings account

5
I jointed Chase Bank mainly because of their savings account. The key draw is that interest is reliably paid on a monthly basis meaning you can benefit from your savings almost immediately. I have been extremely impressed with the way that Chase have responded to each BoE Interest Rate rise almost imediately within the same week raising their savings rate. So far as I can tell they are now one of the most competative on the market. The app is easy and use and its very easy to move money into and out of the savings account as there is no minimum term length. Reviewed on: 10th March 2023
