Im living in Japan for a year as an exchange student and Halifax has made my life a living hell. They keep blocking my card due to me using it in Japan. I keep calling and tell them its me and that Ill be in Japan for a year, asking them to STOP blocking it all the time since I have to pay my rent and EAT. They keep unblocking then blocking again once I resolve the issue.
Im absolutely sick of them and nearly ended up homeless because I couldn't withdraw cash to pay my landlord. Im gonna order a Monzo card to Japan and transfer my money onto there. Absolutely NEVER using Halifax again!
Worst part is, customer service said they can block whenever they want. Absolutely vile, even after I explained that the Japanese currency is not fraud!
