Nightmare! Stay well clear of AllClear!

We purchased this insurance for our medically complex daughter. It cost a lot - but we thought they'd provide us with peace of mind and support if needed. We could have not been more wrong! They advertise that 95% claims get resolved within 5 days. I'd quite like to see some proof for this as our experience- and many reviews on their FB page paint a very different view. We had an accident on holiday in October 2022. Reported it promptly- we only had a brief visit to emergency room, no other claims. In May 2023 they finally- in writing- confirmed cover. Guess whether it's been paid yet by end of August? No. We are being threatened legal proceedings for non-payment by hospital. No one at this AllClear replies properly to emails. They can't tell you any updates or timeliness over the phone either (,if you get through, that is). We will never use their product or any Zurich products again. They are scammers, a company with zero morals, praying on the disabled and medically complex. Please note this is not a review by an angry person whose claim has been rejected. We have no idea what is happening to our claim. No one at this company will provide us with one. We are stuck in limbo, afraid of being sued by the hospital we visited on holiday. AllClear is happy to grab your money with two hands, but will you get value for money? No. Will they do what they say? Again no.. Do yourself a favour and stay well clear of AllClear ! Avoid - expensive AND useless

We have had insurance from AllClear for years and have always been pleased about the courteous service we have had over the phone. The insurance is expensive, but we thought it was worth the money for peace of mind. UNTIL, we actually needed to use the insurance. We were in a no fault car accident in October 2022 and had to attend A&E in the USA with my medically complex daughter. Fortunately she was fine and discharged after a few hours, but 8 months later, we are still being chased by the hospital for payment. There is no dispute over what happened - CSA, the company that deals with the claims side has agreed cover - but it is just endless delays from their end. As a comparison, another member of our family was injured in the same accident and had to go to be checked out at hospital too. His insurance that he has through his bank account sorted everything out within a month. Both claims were very similar - straight forward, fairly low in value and undisputed, As for our claim under the AllClear policy the story is very different. It is near impossible to get any information from them. There are number of different companies involved - You will deal with someone completely different than AllClear when you have a claim. Their telephone lines have hours of wait time. If you email them, it will take weeks for them to reply. And even then, we have had replies saying you'll get an update when there is one. We are living under constant stress and anxiety that we'll ultimately get sued for the medical costs, simply because the insurance we bought from AllClear seems to be valueless. Even if all of this gets resolved now, we would have been chasing up and worrying about it all for months. Something we did not expect when we forked out several thousand pounds for a specialist insurance. If you are seeking specialist insurance, the likelihood is that you or a loved one may need expensive medical assistance whilst abroad. AllClear is happy to take your money, but not to provide the service. I would strongly advise you to look else where - we certainly will in the future. Reviewed on: 3rd July 2023
