If you have some saving and direct debits(most people have them) this account is still the best to beat any inflation.
1.50% interest rate plus cashback on your direct debit which most of time breaks even with the account fee of £5. Open this account trough quidco or cashback for extra incentive between £50 to £100

I have been very happy with direct line but lately I was very disappointed the way they are dealing with my claim.
Lack of communication and I am feeling being ignored by the company.
There is no way to make an official complaint on their website and after staying on line I was told to write an email to ....company who knows what??!!!
FRUSTRATING......!!!!! sort it out...please.......YOU NEED TO LISTEN TO YOUR CUSTOMERS

they are offering a decent service but in my opinion it is far too expensive for what you really get.
You can access the same basic service by having a Barclaycard credit card and paying nothing.
It would be better if the prices would reflect the service provided.
