A useful site for comparing prices and options like a few others out there but with a bit more information and options than most

3
I have used the website a few times with mixed results. The information on the site I have found useful and largely accurate. There is a lot of information and options. I unfortunately encountered a problem once when I could not go through the site due to some sort of website problem they were having for a few days. This leaves it as good but not great for me and I may or may not recommend it due to this problem. Reviewed on: 20th June 2016

A variety of good options for travel money

4
I have used RBS travel money a number of times in the past. They have competitive exchange rates and they also in larger branches keep some foreign currency in stock so you can get them right away without having to wait the usual day or two. The currency in stock tends to only be for common currency's though such as euros , dollers etc. You can have delivery's made to your home, choose the day of delivery and order up to 10 days in advance. The costs are fairly normal for the industry but remember to take this into consideration when calculating the exchange rate against others like the post office which don't charge the same fees. Whenever I need foreign currency I will look at RBS travel money and often buy from them but sometimes find others have a slightly better exchange rate. Reviewed on: 24th December 2015

New service information being posted to current customers

3
I have had a few letters from the RBS in the run up to Christmas advertising new services they have for offers such as cash back on your monthly bills. I like being offered and informed about some of the services and options available but some of them did not really suit me or my buying and savings habits. I may make a change to one of the payed accounts in the future and use the 3% rewards on household bills they told me about in one of the letters. This will more than cover the cost of the new account and costs. It would be good for me if there was some way of giving them basic information about my buying and savings habits even if not the details online so that I don't get all the junk mail for offers what will never be any use to me. Change to overdraft without informing me it would happen

2
I recently went into my overdraft for the first time in a while and I had previously arranged an overdraft without a fee. I found to my irritation that I was now being charged a fee. I was not informed of any changes to my account in relation to this. This may be due to mail going missing or due to me having been out of the city for large periods of time over the last few years. It does seem to be their standard account practice these days but it still makes me angry for there to be unexpected changes and charges I am not informed about. I did try to get more information without much success but as I am out of my overdraft it is no longer as urgent for me to chase this up. Reviewed on: 24th December 2015
