Review of the Chaucer Direct, Car Insurance:

Very good service all round

Chaucer make it easy to leave and change company for car insurance. They write and remind you several times before the end date. They give you a named customer service rep, they also call you text you and send your proof of no claims to you without being asked to make swapping provider easy. The only downside is that they do not price match, so if you want cheaper you have to go elsewhere. Reviewed on: 28th March 2016

Tricky start but eventually all sorted

I have had a reward saver account for a while now and everything was fine for a good while until I needed to change some of my direct debits and the way money came into and went out of my account. Suddenly the £5 month reward stopped arriving. So I set up a meeting with an advisor and went away after an hour hoping all was sorted, but 3 months later I realised things were still not working out properly. I went into a different branch and had another meeting with a very helpful advisor who has at last helped me sort everything out so it now all works well and the £5 arrives on time. The Halifax also back paid all the £5 I had missed out on, so it was definitely worth me persevering with them to get it sorted. So in essence I would say that this is a good account to have but keep an eye on your account. Reviewed on: 24th December 2015
Review of the AA, Breakdown Cover:

Reliable breakdown cover

I always like to have car breakdown cover of some description and I have been with the AA now for about 5 years. It is easy to organise the level of cover that you want and their website is set up clearly so you can easily choose which of the breakdwon services you wan to pay for, from quite a basic level to a fully comprehensive cover. I have had to call them out several times and they always keep you up to date with their progress by texting or calling your mobile which I find helpful. On a less postive side the AA do not offer a discount to regular customers but they do offer a discount to new customers. HOWEVER, when your renewal comes through call them up and ask to renew for the same price as a new customer could join for and you will undoubtedly find them very accomodating. If you don't haggle though this can be a very expensive service after a few years have gone by. Reviewed on: 24th December 2015
