Helpful advice about savings

I wanted to use my tax-free allowance by opening an ISA account. I was able to move money from my existing Treasure account. I was also able to transfer to a Senior savers' account. Interest rates are better for me. Reviewed on: 15th December 2023

Smooth and Efficient Service

My mortgage was organised via a broker so I didn't have too much direct dealing with NBS but the whole process seemed to run smoothly in minimal time, the offer was made on the advised date and all in all was an efficient service Reviewed on: 12th December 2023

One month to open an account

I tried to open an existing members account one year after opening my first account. I was originally told I could open the account on 14th November, when I tried to open the account on 14th I was told I had to wait until January. When I queried why the date had changed I was told I could open the account on 14th. I then tried to open the account on=line via the myaccounts team. After a couple of days the account appeared, so I tried to deposit some money - the deposit was returned without explanation. As a result I went into the branch and after investigatation was advised by the branch staff that the account was not fully verified and that I would receive an e-mail when the account was ready. By the 1st December I still had not received an e-mail so I sent a message via the myaccount on-line protal - again no response was received so I visited the branch, to be told that the account was now available - strangely when I returned home I had an e-mail waiting for me. I would add that the staff in branch are excellent, however your on-line system is very poor and has only become worse since the recent upgrade - I would only recommend Newbury Building Society if doing business via the branch staff (i.e. not on-line). A Personal Private Interview to open an account

My wife and I were very pleased to have a personal private interview to discuss opening a Senior saver Account. We needed a joint account where both of us could access our savings. Old fashioned personal service

Having saved, and had a mortgage with the NBS, we were invited to change our savings account to one more suitable to our current needs. After an in-depth discussion we chose an existing memebers account and moved both a treasure plus and a notice isa account into the new account seamlessly. Reviewed on: 8th December 2023

Great rate but not easy to register!

Decided to open savings account online but found it difficult to navigate and had to phone my account helpline a couple of times. The boxes on the account pages with instructions in are misleading and even the staff member I spoke to agreed the wording was not correct. Also transferring monies into general account with inputting your reference number is bound to get mistakes and lost monies. It needs account numbers for all accounts to transfer to to make it a smoother system. Other than that I will wait and see... Reviewed on: 8th December 2023

I opened the account online on sunday after transferring money into account as per instructions I clicked on the last page to be advised the website was not working. Monday I rang to be advised they had my details and money and I would be contacted within a few days when I had been verified. I reiterated that the website was not working correctly and I had received no information at all. It is ow friday 5 days on from when I tried to open the account and this is the first email I have received. I have no acccount details or anything. This is appalling service.
