Horrible!

I never missed a payment on my credit card, always paying on time and more than the minimum amount. I was about £300 under my credit limit and tried making a £30 purchase using the card at my local Holland and Barrett. To my embarrassment, the sales assistant told me that my card had been refused, and that a note had popped up on their system asking them to call Barclaycard immediately. I was very confused at this point, but waited whilst the call was made. The girl then returned to me and explained that Barclaycard have refused the payment, but that she wasn't aware of why. Annoyed at this point, I asked for my card back and tried to leave the shop. The assistant told me that Barclaycard had instructed her to keep my card...!!!!! What?!?! I left the store, even MORE annoyed and confused and I called Barclaycard when I got home for an explanation. I was told a new card would be sent out. Fine. When the letter arrived, it said (without giving ANY reason at all) that Barclaycard were exercising their right to cancel my account with them and that I was to pay back all monies owed. So A company that I had been using, AND paying on time every month, took my card and closed my account without any explanation. Great company.... NOT!! I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. Any time that I've had to contact the bank for any reason, the staff in the call centre are always very helpful and knowledgeable. I had some fraudulent activity on my account, but once I called the bank it didn't take long at all for them to rectify the money taken and issue me a new card. Would recommend!
