Best multicurrency account

4
It's probably the best app to hold accounts in multiple currencies, exchanging between them, and paying in multiple countries. Even the free plan offers enough for most use cases and can buy a plan for a short-term if need to transfer larger amounts to keep fees low. It offers many products like savings, crypto, insurance but doesn't seem to do them as well as its core functionality Reviewed on: 12th April 2024

The least useful among its competitors

2
eToro does not provide actual shares or ETFs, but CFDs, which have higher fees and don't receive dividends. It charges high currency conversion fees, as well as a hefty $5 withdrawal fee. Generally, deposits and withdrawals are cumbersome. Except maybe for crypto, and leverage trading (which is risky) I see no use case that is as good as on other platforms. Interest rate on cash is much lower than competitors. Costumer service is slow Reviewed on: 12th April 2024

The best interest rate for a savings account once

3
Had the best interest rate for a savings account at some point, not anymore though. Transferring money in and out was not as straightforward as with a regular app, not problematic though Reviewed on: 12th April 2024

Good for multiple purposes

5
They offer low fee stocks trading, ETFs, as well as money market funds. They offer good but not market leading interest on uninvested funds, in various currencies, and can effectively use it as a multicurrency account work low FX fees. Good real-time stock pricing info and visualisations. Reviewed on: 12th April 2024

More expensive than competitors

4
Most competitors now offer Stocks and Shares ISA and SIPPs for no or lower fees. They also offer better selection of stocks, while with Freetrade, the selection in the free plan is limited. Withdrawals also take 2-3 business days Reviewed on: 12th April 2024
