These people make you a prisoner and increase their interest rate any how they like. They ruthless and horrible. Reviewed on: 11th March 2023

Terrible! Worst and most incompetent lender I have ever used!

Decided to not lend based on re-decorations required which is completely ridiculous, especially as the decorations were in fine order anyway (and of course this is no reason to give a zero valuation)! They wasted our time and money, they were slow to respond and completely useless. I do not have even one positive point to add. Reviewed on: 2nd August 2021

Fraud

My experience of Foundation Home Loans came about as a result of agreeing to sell my house to a buyer who applied to them for a mortgage. FHL took his mortgage application fees and messed him around for three months with the most petty of requests (and long delays between those requests). The killer blow came when they turned around and pointed to a minor point in a survey report that they’d been provided with two months earlier. The house has a small crack in a firebreak wall in the roof space. The surveyor had commented in his report that it appeared historic and non-progressive, yet without even asking for a structural survey FHL simply pulled out, saying that the house had subsidence and was of nil value. Reviews from other reviewers suggest that pulling out for the most trivial of reasons after months of delay is common practice for FHL. They are of the opinion, as am I, that FHL is a scam operation, designed to defraud mortgage applicants of their application fees. The enormous delays and petty requests appear to serve only to give the impression that serious consideration is being paid to the application. There is a striking contrast in the reviews between the “real” experiences such as that recounted above, and a number of glowing reviews. In my opinion, such reviews are dishonest reviews left by family and friends etc of people within FHL. I might be mistaken, but I seriously doubt it. If you don’t want to be left waiting for months and then let down at the last minute on the most petty of grounds, I suggest that you avoid FHL at all costs. Reviewed on: 26th October 2020

terrible service

Only got a 1 star as it is not possibe to go negative, I have paid my last two payments into their account and yet they are stating I havent, even though I have proof and have given then the account number it was paid into the dates and how much. It has not bounced back and yet they are continuing to bully me with contact daily even though I ring back and go through it with them they just want me to pay it again. With the threat that they will start procedings, we are in the middle of a panepidemic and yet they dont want to help someone who is paying their mortgage they would rather try and threaten. A terrible experience

A terrible experience. A very slow turn around time (often a week or more) on documents and raising queries. Poor customer service, slow response times to questions raised by my broker. Extremely picky over paperwork. I will never use FHL again. If 0 star was an option, I would have given it. Reviewed on: 6th June 2019

Long Delays

They are very slow to process documents and keep requesting the same documents over and over. They have a 2 week response time period. They do not study the case properly and every stage is repeated more than once. Please be careful if the property is on a time limit. Reviewed on: 25th July 2018

Do't go with this company

I've applied for BTL mortgage with this lender 3 months ago and FHLis asking one after the other documents without studying the case properly. I never seen such a useless lender in my experience. If you want to loose your initial processing payment, lender fee, valuation amount please go with this lender.
