Home insurance claim August 23 for water damage from water tank. Substantial damage to property. Found out that policy was underwritten by RSA. Nationwide completely disinterested and passed to RSA. Diabolical company to deal with. Uninhabitable home and provided no alternative accommodation for 7 weeks, have been obstructive throughout and I have severe health condition and a 3 year old with Autism. They really don’t care. Still have not settled completely and have never sent an assessor to even visit property. They lie, conveniently lose recordings of calls at will to their advantage (surprise surprise). My case is ongoing with the Ombudsman. Luckily I have documented everything. Please beware if you are unfortunate enough to have to claim they are underhanded liers. Luckily for me, I can prove this as they don’t even read their own emails before accusing you of doing things that haven’t occurred and you have evidence to prove they have already said otherwise in their previous correspondence. They are deliberately obstructive, cancelling accommodation last minute. Not providing adequate accommodation for full family. Moving accommodation room by room daily. No allowance for meals and no facilities for preparing food. Travelling around 50/70 miles per day to get to work plus additional travel to collect children from grandparents to take to school and back. No provision for food on Xmas day. Will not replace damaged clothing, bed, wardrobe, towels, bedding, children’s toys, vacuum cleaner, tv and furniture. Please beware. Reviewed on: 23rd July 2024
