Straight forward claim with pay out

We recently claimed for our dog who unfortunately passed away after realising he had severely progressed cancer. The initial symptoms presented as a tummy bug but our vet trips quickly increased. The process for making a claim was relatively straight forward - I received a text about once a week once the claim progressed. As he was a rescue, it was slightly stressful being questioned if we could provide further medical history for him - but I understand that they need to gather all the info they can. I wonder if it would be more helpful to provide this history/records at the time of buying the insurance - rather than having to worry about it when your pet is actually ill/deceased and also grieving. However, the history we managed to provide was accepted. I phones 3/4 times over the course of the claim, and found all the staff I spoke to very friendly, understanding and detailed in their explanation. I had never gone through a claims process before and they made sure that I understood every step of the way. Ours was quite a straight forward case - he was a very healthy dog with no history of illness. I do wonder how difficult a claim would be if he'd had a history of illness .. but I guess this is the case across most insurance providers. It did take about 6 weeks for the claim to come through - fortunately our vets were happy to wait for the claim to process. Reviewed on: 18th October 2024

Very helpful customer service

Rang up to talk about a claim. The lady on the phone was very kind and helpful. I had not dealt with insurance claims before, and she really took the time to explain everything in detail and made sure I was fully up to speed with the process. Still waiting for the claim to process (we were told wait time is currently about 6 weeks) and money to come through but don't anticipate any issues.. fingers crossed! Reviewed on: 28th August 2024
