Awful and unlawful

1
I've been having an awful experience with WPA. I sprained my ankle within the time frame of my policy but based on an error by my GP, which was immediately amended a few days later (also on the notes I've provided them), they have unauthorised physiotherapy for my ankle. This in itself was very upsetting and it was decided just before Xmas, on the 23rd December. The previous treatment (one physio session) I had through them caused a massive injury to my knee. They were kind enough to authorise a specialist appointment as I was in horrific pain for over a week and unable to walk. I never had this issue before. The specialist asked for a MRI. He had to fill in a WPA report where he indicated this had never happened before. Not content with this WPA requested his clinical letter. As this referred to gym exercises that hadn't been recommended as they caused pain in my knee, they also asked for my medical notes, which I provided. No mention of knee or ankle issues prior to these. However they keep on asking for more information as there was a mention of an appointment with a rheumatologist for general inflammation in joints years ago. It's clear they do not want to authorise any more treatment/an MRI and as I am a private customer, and not an employee with huge benefits, they decided to discriminate against me. I have now complained several times to no effect. On 30th December they had a perverse pleasure in informing me they have up to 8 weeks to respond. Couldn't care less about the pain I'm in. What is the point of paying almost 3 thousand to get abused and ill treated like this?? I have regretted so much transferring my policy over to WPA. They're far worse than AXA, whose admin team is a mess but they respond to complaints and try to address the issues. These guys just leave you stewing... And in pain. I was under the impression they were great. Not to me, unfortunately. They have since replied to my complaint on Trustpilot saying they are reviewing this. I believe they will take 8 weeks as required by law and of course make me pay privately although they are in breach of my policy terms and conditions. I will never renew my policy with this company and regret I have transferred to them. Reviewed on: 19th January 2025
