Sensational 0% balance offer

I've had the credit card for a while now, and although the website is *reasonably* easy to deal with, it isn't perfect. The main reason for me reviewing this however was they emailed an offer to me of a 0% credit card balance transfer with £0 transaction fee to move it across!! I thought it was a brilliant offer. If it weren't for the fact I am in the process of remortaging the house (and didn't want a hard credit check on my account), I would totally have taken advantage of it! I don't know if the offer went to all customers, or maybe people who've been with the credit card for a while, but it was a superb offer! Reviewed on: 27th February 2025

Not bad, but best for those using it as their main A/C

I find it a bit finicky to move money between current and savings account. Plus the £1500 minimum pay in each month to qualify for cashback is a bit of a strain. But to be honest, I just don't use it enough to make the cashback worthwhile. It's probably more beneficial for those who will genuinely use it as their main current account, to truly get the most out of the cashback, but to casual users like me it will just be a bit "meh" Reviewed on: 27th February 2025

A really cool spending app

I downloaded the app recently and am still getting to grips with it, but I've been impressed with it so far. I was absolutely stunned to see how much I had spent on childcare in the past 2 years! There's just something that stops me using it!

There's just something that stops me using the app to its full extent. I go through the rigmarole of putting £1500 in each month, but then I just go back to using First Direct for my day to day spending! I don't know what it is - the brand maybe? Reviewed on: 23rd August 2024

Long term first direct devotee!

I've had my current account with first direct for about 30 years now (it was via post initially!) and they've consistently been at the cutting edge of customer service and technological advances in banking for all of that time now. Their excellent customer service (I believe) recognised that I was not making sensible financial decisions around 20 years ago, and gently encouraged me out of my circle of credit card abuse and debt, to the point where I haven't been overdrawn on my current account for around 12 years now! I genuinely love the brand, and will not change my current account to anyone else, no matter what the incentive! Reviewed on: 24th May 2024
