Review of the Chip, Savings App:

More than just a savings account with a good rate

5
I have used CHIP for many years as a savings account. The autosave feature is great, but what really has made the difference is that their interest rates is so much more competitive than the traditional banks. While the difference looks small, it is the compounding over time that has made it so worthwhile. The app is really easy to use, and the FSCS protection is reasuring. Now that they offer investment products as well I have been able to move beyond having a rainyday fund and savings for holidays to being able to invest for my long term future. Have been saving with CHIP for many years now.

Have been saving with CHIP for many years now. I love the auto save on pay day and the regular chipping away at my current account that pays 0% and moves it into a competitive savings account. Knowing that it is instantly available and covered by the FSCS compensation scheme makes me sleep easy. Reviewed on: 14th February 2024

Simple easy saving with a decent return!

I have been using CHIP for a couple of years and it continues to go from strength to strength. Even though interest rates have risen the traditional banks have been slow to raise their rates. CHIP however had continued to push their rates higher and pass on the changes quicker. Reviewed on: 15th February 2023

Simple and easy painless saving

CHIP has blown me away with its ability to make saving so simple. I use both the payday saver which allows me to put away an amount of money on pay day but the real star is the ability to sweep a small amount of money (under a tenner) from my account into the savings account. Its sad (but true) that I do not even notice it going out, as it is like just buying a coffee or a beer or a snack. CHIP lets me know its going to do it, so I am not surprised by it. But what is surprising is when you look at your CHIP balance at the end of the month in the app and you see how much you have saved without even realising it. Reviewed on: 10th March 2021
