Excellent Help Solving Problems

We had a joint account and were having problems getting one of the cards reissued. The staff in our local branch were brilliantly helpful and sorted out the issue with the online banking system quickly and efficiently for us. Reviewed on: 13th January 2018

Poor Customer Service

Recieved very poor customer service from them. Having been with them for over 10 years and transfered with them between the UK and Australia, they trebled our fee on our return, despite being with them for years. We were penalised for being existing customers - new customers got a far better deal. Reviewed on: 23rd September 2017

Poor Quality Cover, Frequent Errors

1
We have been with BUPA for over 10 years in both the UK and Australia. In Australia they frequently told us we were covered for things and then when we went to claim, we found we were not covered. It was only when they listened to the call recordings when we complained, that they agreed that they had said we were covered and paid up. Suffice to say, I would not recommend their Australian operations. When we moved back to the UK we expected to be able to continue our cover (as we had been able to when we moved to Australia). However, in order to continue our cover they want over 280 pounds per month for 1 adult and 2 children. They told us there was only one option and we could take it or leave it. I went with April Health Insurance at a quarter of the price. When I companied to BUPA about the cost I recieved a call from a manager saying that the team members I had spoken to (3 of them) had got it wrong and there were a variety of options available. This showed me that BUPA cannot be trusted and provides very poor customer service. I got a follow up letter telling me that they had done nothing wrong and did not expect their staff to know their products. Suffice to say, I would not recommend BUPA, nor would I buy any of their products again. Reviewed on: 20th September 2017

Good quality product

April offer high quality health insurance at a very competitive price. They have a 2 year moratorium period which means that after 2 years with no visits to the doctor or medical advice, anything that you have suffered from in the previous 5 years is covered. We moved across from BUPA. We had been with BUPA for over 10 years in the UK and Australia but on our return from Australia, despite being with them for so long, they would not cover us for existing conditions without paying an extortionate amount every month. April came to the rescue and charged a fair price for cover, along with the moratorium period which is entirely fair. Our dealings with them have been very professional and I am very happy with the cover we have. Reviewed on: 20th September 2017
