I am trying to take my pens ion as a lump sum .

I am trying to take my pension as a lump sum . They are not being very cooperative at the moment. I rang a few weeks ago and they sent an information pack filled then docs to sign / signed and now 4 week delay and was told by a very rude person that I’m not the only pensioner cashing in their pension . She / they seem to forget that it is my money that I paid in all those years and now it seems they begrudge allowing me my pension which over the years I worked hard for . Not a happy bunny

I had a retire ready pension with Aegon ( transferred over from a vg company but I had no say in this decision because it was a work pension) and I must say that they just took money from my pot to invest elsewhere but the investments never worked, once 14,000 went missing so I had to phone them up and the next day it was returned. The staff were cocky and rude and I certainly wouldn’t recommend them Reviewed on: 23rd January 2024

Poor investment

I can only go by my own experience, which is very poor . I worked for a company with an excellent pension provider but unfortunately the company sold the business to other owners and somehow my pension was handled by Aegon . Towards the end of my working life I watched the value go down by approximately 5 thousand so I cashed in before it all disappeared. At one time it went down 14 thousand so I phoned to enquire and they told me it was because I changed my retirement day on the web Reviewed on: 30th June 2022
