Expensive and poor customer service

My premium quote has gone up by 90% despite no claims and no changes except that my dog is now 6 rather than 5yrs old. I received the quote by email and by return email stated that I was not going to renew. I was then told that the email address I emailed them from (the one they sent the email to!!) did not match their records and that I needed to phone. With out taking annual leave I am unable to phone as I am working. I emailed back with a signed letter attached with my details etc. No acknowledgement except a further email to the address they say they have no record of telling me that they tried to call to discuss 'the issue' (not being able to call also means I cannot accept incoming calls whilst working!). I have emailed again and have sent a physical letter and will block direct debits. This is very poor from PetGuard. Even if they offered me a reduced premium, I'm afraid that their recent treatment of me shows that their customer service is poor, therefore I am not interested in their product.
