Unwilling to communicate until they have extorted their clients

I have now sent required information (Proof of No Claims) to 7 different e-mail addresses all of which retrun undelivered; their 'online service system' doesn't even accept my e-mail address never mind try to login; And I've spent 6 days calling their premium rate telpehone numbers to listen to 'on-hold music' for 10 minutes each time before I give up.
This is not SERVICE - it is EXTORTION.
Had I chosen a better and more expensive supplier I would still have paid less than I have paid between my premium and premium rate telephone calls to Brightside Insurance.
Quite positively the worst experience I have ever had with an insurance company.
I would urge anyone else who has had a similar experience to get in touch with me as I am now considering legal action for breach of contract. These monkeys are failing to provide adequate service or avenues to allow clients to communicate with them which is unacceptable.

You cannot get hold of them, if you ring, you get transferred around 5 different departments and no-one can help. They do not answer emails. They completely ripped my off - would not touch them with a barge pole. My previous insurance company sent me a letter confirming 9 years no claims bonus, Brightside would not accept it. Kept informing me by no-reply email that needed no claims certificate, we kept up-loading details and the DVLA licence, but still got emails saying would cancel policy if not received. You couldn't speak to anyone, they would not deal with all the emails I sent, and in the end I cancelled the policy and went back to previous insurance company. After more emails and phone calls, Brightside said they would not refund my money as there was a fee of £68.00 just to change policy + fees for cancellation. DO NOT TOUCH THIS COMPANY

Tried there luck to rip me off even after NCB!!

After a no claim year, they decided to charged me more for the second year. It really gets under my skin when companies try to rip you off but not only by £100 but by £400-600!! Called to complain and they couldn’t bring the price down. Advise against ...

Three months after renewing my policy for a year with Brightside, I received a letter from the Motor Insurers' Bureau, informing me that my motorbike was not insured. I checked the database. It turned out that both of the motorcycles on that policy were shown as not insured.
After a total of 30 minutes spent waiting on the telephone, I spoke to someone who did not apologise, gave no explanation, but promised to correct the error. He gave me only his first name and no reference number.
It now turns out that nothing has happened and that I cannot pay my road tax.

Stay away from the Darkside...

Shockingly dishonest and potentially fraudulent company. I am currently in the process of making a compliant to the Financial Ombudsman about their practices. I accepted a motorcycle quote from them of 365 GBP for 12 months for 3rd party liability insurance and some of their add-ons. I answered their questionaire honestly.

Only after I paid, the paperwork stated the no-claims was supposed to be in the last two years. I told them immediately that my last insurance policy was 2 years and 2 months ago. They waited until after the 14 day cooling off period to inform me they are raising the rate by 119 GBP since my last insurance policy was just over 2 years old. I looked around and realized there were a lot more competitive quotes than that. I cancelled less then 14 days after I recieved the notice of increase. After ignoring the request for cancellation for 7 days, they inform me that they are charging me over 200 GBP for an insurance policy that lasted less than one month when the orginal 12 month policy that was quoted at 365 GBP (484 when they raised it)! Darkside claims that I have to pay the full 12 months additional add-ons, which was not the way they representated them at all at purchase.

--> Stay away: Darkside may seem like a good deal from the initial quote, but just wait....

Never received documents online, no one answers phone, impossible to set up website account.

Policy was a far price and RAC cover was excellent. Polite emails, but no phone calls answered ( gave up after 15 minutes of repetitive music) And I don’t seem to have any emailed documents. Really wished I had requested paper copies through the post.

Had insurance with brightside since August 2017. On friday ask for a quote for a potential new car and realized they canceled my insurance without me asking.
If police stopped me that would be a very expensive mistake on their part.
Avoid this company at all costs.
Asked what can I do know and been told I have to pay £ 175.00 because off their mistake.
Go straight to the
Financial Ombudsman services.
Very poor customer services.
