I strongly advise against using Countingup for your business banking needs. While I understand that financial institutions have legal and regulatory obligations, the manner in which Countingup has handled my situation is unacceptable and falls short of the standards expected from a reputable financial service provider. In traditional business banking, clients are assigned a dedicated relationship manager who works closely with them to address any concerns or issues that may arise. This personalised approach ensures that problems are resolved efficiently and professionally, minimising the risk of abrupt account suspensions or closures. Countingup's actions demonstrate a clear lack of such a customer-centric approach. The tone of their emails is cold, robotic, and devoid of empathy, which is highly inappropriate and detrimental to maintaining a healthy relationship with clients. Instead of fostering trust and understanding, their communication style only serves to alienate and frustrate customers who have entrusted them with their financial matters. Moreover, Countingup's demand for personal bank statements and emails from clients and suppliers is a serious breach of privacy and raises concerns about the security of sensitive data. The extent of data requested is not proportionate to the situation at hand, and clients have the right to know exactly how their personal information will be handled, stored, and protected. The uncertainty surrounding the extent to which these statements and emails will be used and shared is deeply troubling and erodes the confidence that clients place in this institution. Furthermore, suspending accounts without prior investigation is an accusatory act that presumes guilt without due process. Requesting emails from clients and suppliers without their explicit consent is also a violation of their privacy rights. These third parties may not want their details shared with Countingup, and it is unethical to pressurise clients into disclosing such information without proper authorisation from all parties involved. To make matters worse, Countingup's insistence on conducting these sensitive exchanges over unsecured email channels demonstrates a blatant disregard for data security. Requesting personal bank statements and emails containing confidential information to be sent via unencrypted email is an unacceptable practise that leaves clients and their associates vulnerable to potential data breaches and unauthorised access. In light of these issues, I strongly believe that Countingup's practises are unacceptable and fall far short of the standards set by traditional business banking institutions. Their actions have severely damaged the relationship between the bank and its clients, and it is imperative that they re-evaluate their approach to customer service, data security, and communication methods. I urge potential clients to carefully consider the risks associated with entrusting their financial matters to Countingup. Instead, seek out alternative banking solutions that prioritise your needs, respect the privacy of all stakeholders, and maintain the highest standards of data security. Read more Read less
