As a mutual, Earl Shilton Building Society (esbs) is run for the benefit of its members with profits reinvested rather than paying shareholders.

The first meeting of ‘Earl Shilton Permanent Benefit Building & Land Society’ was held in the Royal Oak Club Room, High Street, Earl Shilton, on the 17th December 1856.

Today, esbs has 15,000 members and 39 staff. provides financial services on a local and national level. It offers a range of products across savings and mortgages.
