Glorified loan sharks preying on the elderly and vulnerable!! And when your loved ones pass away they will make every process long and almost impossible and in the mean while continue to add interest on to the account and when it’s 1000£ a month and they are postponing and dragging heals for 9 months this is seriously adding up ! They have taking months to sort a responses and then saying house is being sold for too less and sending in their own evaluation people adding on more time and then there isn’t enough to cover their shark loan!! Absolute nightmare!

Absolute nightmare for my mum trying to port her mortgage, enquiry after enquiry each one taking weeks for them to resolve now 7 months later she still can't exchange. If you are thinking of using this company and ever want to move, good luck finding a chain of people willing to wait the best part if a year to move. They brand themselves lending for later life, but they have no regard for the mental wellbeing of customers, my mum is distraught as her seller is now pulling out, leaving her with all her solicitors fees for absolutely nothing, thanks M2L! Took out a life time mortgage to pay off mortgage before I retire and was under the understanding I could take more money out when needed but this is not the case as more to live as they say have no money available what a joke now struggling to pay off accumulated bebt Reviewed on: 16th June 2025

Avoid This Company!!

My parents took out an equity release on their property ten years ago. Now they have both passed away, I have the house to sell and obviously pay the loan off. I have kept More2Life informed almost from day one but they insist on treating me like someone who is trying to avoid paying them! I absolutely am not and if I was, I would not be being so open with them! The latest is they are saying the loan must be paid within six months of my Dad’s death! I have the original contract, signed by my parents, and there appears to be no such clause. Surely they must be used to this sort of situation and the fact that there is no money until the house is sold. I've had no compassion and no understanding, just repeated hoops to jump through. Made the mistake of switching from Just Retirement - big mistake

I made the mistake of switching my equity release plan from Just Retirement which has turned out to be a big mistake. Where the previous lender processed the initial lump sum fairly efficiently, and then additional advances in about two weeks, M2L take months to do anything. Nobody calls you back - ever. Even if you try and speak to a manager or submit a complaint it’s impossible to break through their lies and inefficiency to get a response. They do seem to have a remarkably efficient process for responding on review sites, but don’t be fooled by the response about ‘being investigated by a manager’, this leads nowhere and you’ll still be waiting. If you want more to life from your retirement than the frustration of dealing with this shower everyday I recommend going elsewhere.
