Fraudsters and timewasters AVOID!!

Activated card when it came and loaded £10 from my fathers bank account. took 5 days. Then sold some stuff to a friend which came to just over £300. 3 weeks now and about 15 emails and 5 calls not counting the 30 odd calls where I could not get through! They said they needed a photo of my driving licence, utility bill and asked why I was receiving money from a third party??? Then asked for proof of my friends transaction. He did not want to send his bank details to them as it all seems a bit fraudulent and who is in the habit of sending pictures of their personal data! Anyway, sent them a snippet of his bank statement. Emailed them again as they had not replied to the last 3 emails and no action taken on phone calls made. Now asking "what is the reason for receiving money from a third party" AGAIN!! Not answering calls again. Complete waste of time and am beginning to wonder if I will see the money. Don't bother with these scammers. Reviewed on: 15th October 2016

Do not believe the bad reviews

Excellent card, works well though sometimes it can be very frustrating ~ but hey ho! Use the brain cells a bit more than usual and the results are great. You do get what you pay for and so far this has cost me nothing, loading cash through WHS is free so it is win win without the risk, only the amount you have on hold. Do read the how to load money & keep you receipts ~ I had a few issues that were my fault. I asked nicely and they fixed it. Reviewed on: 30th September 2016

Reading many of these reviews, I am thinking I was lucky

I first signed up for a virtual Wirecard (which is German and deals in Euros primarily), and that was completely horrible - it took me over a month to get money my £40 top-up onto it. I kept emailing and got so fed up when I finally got it, I just withdrew all £40 and paid it into Amazon credits, which is more reliable, though I had no Amazon purchases planned. I later found Pockit, and thought I'd give it a try. I later found out it was in partnership with Wirecard, which may or may not be part of the problem of what people are facing. However, by and large, it has worked well for me. I tested a bank transfer and it took almost a week to turn up, so I tried to top it up with my debit card instead, which takes a few minutes to 30mins max to turn up. If you use bank transfers, be very careful to put in the correct reference, as you may end up in limbo and need to then contact Pockit. I typically only top up £10-£20 at a time as it's contactless and I don't want to lose large amounts of money. I know many people use it for their wages/benefits, but I am a bit leery about it, and I'm happy with my main bank account. I originally planned to use it for London buses/trains, and for potentially risky online purchases where I don't want to give out my main bank card details, or if it's a surprise that I don't want appearing on my bank statement. Right now though I just give it to my girlfriend to buy a coffee or some groceries. It's a nice web-interface that almost instantly updates when payments or withdrawals are made, so I can keep track of it more thoroughly than my bank card which takes 2-3 days to show up on the online statement. Bear in mind that withdrawals do incur a £1 fee - but if it's my girlfriend, I don't argue, ha. If you are looking to use it for small top-ups and payments, paying in with another debit card, you may want to give this a go, as the costs are minimal, so the risk is then low. I'm sorry about the guys who have suffered - honestly, I had the same experience with the virtual Wirecard. I even got my bank to send me a letter with the transaction details of my bank transfer, and it took Wirecard ages to credit my account even with all the info. I think it is the problem with the cheaper accounts without monthly fees, and may be better to get a prepaid card you pay monthly fees on... but that's something I'll test maybe much later on when I have the money or inclination. 3 weeks ago we paid money onto two peoples Pockit card, after about 12 days Pockit said they can't credit their cards so we requested the money back. But we was then told it's not our money it was theirs and now refuse to talk to us about it saying it's data protection, they have now had the money for 3 weeks and we are still struggling to get it back, will let you know how I get on.
