My only negative was the wait time. 9.5hours but I understand that because I was at my daughters house so not out in the elements... I didn’t get the guy’s name unfortunately but he was very knowledgeable, quiet at first but then was very chatty. He located problem as I could only select 3 and 4 in my Suzuki Splash so no way I could drive it. He informed me what the problem was (left to Right gear linkage disconnect ) Advised that I may need a new cable in the future but was confident in his repair. He usually serves Coventry and Nuneaton areas but was detoured to Upper Tysoe at 7.40pm 01.02.26. He asked if I was returning home that evening and offered to follow me back to Coventry. An absolute credit to your company and obvious loves his job!! Please could you locate the job number and pass on my thanks. A very happy customer Lynda Woods. Thank you Read more Read less

Put 1 because 0 is not an option. Broke down and reported the issue. Told waiting time was upto 7 hours with minimum being 4... Put 1 because 0 is not an option. Broke down and reported the issue. Told waiting time was upto 7 hours with minimum being 4 hours. I am a blue badge holder with my daughter in the car. Started getting really cold so called them back. As I am a blue badge holder I was told I had been upgraded and would be given priority and a 45 min slot. Time then went up another hour to possibly over 7 hours. Called back to ask why the priority hadn't happened and got fobbed off. The place I am parked told me its illegal to be here and are putting pressure on me. Reported that to the RAC who still cant improve the waiting time. I understand the may be busy but this is terrible. Sat cold and in pain wondering how a reputable company can have got to be in such a state. Read more Read less

    Nightmare to get in touch with

    Broke down and it was a nightmare to get in touch with someone from RAC. Then I was told we'd need to wait 4-7 hours... Broke down and it was a nightmare to get in touch with someone from RAC. Then I was told we'd need to wait 4-7 hours before help would arrive, when my car had broken down on a dangerous country lane, so I ended having to pay for someone to come out to fix the car.     DONT BUY RAC COVER .REPEAT DONT BUY RAC COVER WAS WAs warned not to get RAC COVER by others but still did ,broke down at... DONT BUY RAC COVER .REPEAT DONT BUY RAC COVER WAS WAs warned not to get RAC COVER by others but still did ,broke down at home .me and my wife are both disabled ,blue badge holders my wife is very sick at any time may have to take her to hospital .CHEEKY RAC attendant said call 999 for an ambulance then .disgraceful .called rac late afternoon was given a time of 7.40 to 8.10p. Then someone from RAC CALLED asking about circumstances changed time then to 11pm to 2am .then i called RAC back they said it wont be till next day or if your wife needs to go the hospital call an ambulance thats what the ambulances are there for.DISGRACEFUL MANNER to treate extremely sick members PUNISHED BY RAC FOR BREAKING DOWN AT HOME .been a member for a long time Read more Read less

    RAC ‘auto renewed’ our policy, without telling us - we had already got alternative insurance. Cancelling RAC insurance is a real pain to do!

    would never use again!

    would never use again!!! full service booked on my driveway, Technician spent most of the 1hr 15mins total time either on the phone or sat... would never use again!!! full service booked on my driveway, Technician spent most of the 1hr 15mins total time either on the phone or sat in his van or my car, oil not changed and wouldn't have even told me if not questioned (excuse was one of the bolts for the floor tray would now come off...not surprised listening to the impact wrench going at it) . Now waiting to be contacted for the oil to be changed and the service to be completed.... but of course they took the full payment automatically despite only being a very small part complete!!!, air filter not changed, coolant not topped up. and to top it off broke one of my brake pad wear sensors and left an oily mess on my driveway. for the price of a full manufactures recommended service all I received was new wipers when my ones were only a week old anyway, a "new oil filter" and a new pollen filter plus damage to my driveway and car! Have been ignored since submitting my complaint and the evidence that was requested so now having to take this matter up with Trading standards as I'm left out of pocket for a service I didn't even receive Read more Read less

    First and last experience using the RAC

    I’ve had to use the AA several times over the years with a works van and never waited more than 50 minutes, unfortunately for me... I’ve had to use the AA several times over the years with a works van and never waited more than 50 minutes, unfortunately for me today I needed the RAC , called them at around 4:30pm , estimated time of arrival 21:30 - 11:30 pm , and that was to survey the vehicle even though I explained that the power steering had failed and it couldn’t be driven ( aux belt broken ) .     Absolutely terrible company!

    Absolutely terrible company! Had an MOT with one of their vouchers you get from bri bf a member, I had the MOT with an EAC... Absolutely terrible company! Had an MOT with one of their vouchers you get from bri bf a member, I had the MOT with an EAC approved garage and the garage are chasing me for the money as RAC are ignoring them! I’ve now called around 12 times and emailed 10 in the past month they’ve offered no compensation at all and still haven’t invoiced the garage! The stress levels are next level. Read more Read less

    Worst breakdown cover ever

    10 hours waiting and then told would not be seen until the following day.6 Calls to customer service and nothing. No manager call back... absolutely shocking service all round.

    Appalling service from the RAC, don't believe their advertised response time of 60 minutes. Reported breakdown and initially quoted 4-6 hour wait. Rang them to... Rang them to ask if they could do it any quicker as had to take daughter somewhere and then had an update saying be 6-8 hours now. Rang again to see what was going on, told escalation team ring me back immediately, they didn't, but had text to say wait will be 24 hours now!!! Rang again to say needed take daughter somewhere and also take her to school early in morning so couldn't wait 24 hours and told I'm not priority and no manager available.
