I have 2 pensions with these, one set up by my company and the other that I opted out of SERPS with. I moved home a few years ago and didn’t get statements for both pensions for a few years, added to this took my eye off the ball with them. When I finally got statements, it turns out for the past 5 years in a row the pensions have made 0.25% a year every year ! I therefore complained as the returns were unbelievable, I was told that my funds had been invested in CREST. I just wonder how many other victims they have. To put this into context, I had £50k nearly invested and over 5 years they have made me £500 whilst taking over £5k in charges for their expertise in investing!! So over a 5 year period they have made 1.25% whilst the FTSE has increased by nearly 50%. This is not a company to trust with your money! I have today transferred this account, unfortunately though I have another account with £50k in, with exactly the same story, this account can’t be transferred though! How convenient!! BTW Royal London,I could have made 15% in a building society account over 5 years! Disgraceful! Read more Read less

Happy with Royal London as my workplace pension provider. The platform is straightforward to navigate and gives you a clear view of how your pot is performing. What sets them apart is the profit share — as a mutual, they distribute a share of profits back to eligible policyholders, which is a meaningful differentiator from the big corporate providers. Feels like a scheme that's actually aligned with members rather than shareholders. Read more Read less

I’ve had a positive experience with Royal London life insurance. The process was straightforward, communication was clear, and it’s given me real peace of mind knowing my family would have financial protection if anything happened to me. I also like that the cover can be tailored to different needs, whether that’s protecting a mortgage or providing longer-term family support. Royal London offers term and whole-of-life cover, with options such as level, increasing, or decreasing cover depending on the policy. Read more Read less

I've just spent nearly 2 hours on the phone trying to get answers to what should be everyday questions before I cash in part of my pension pot. I've spoken to 4 different departments so far (each one taking about half an hour to answer the call) and they're all equally clueless. Appalling service, avoid. Read more Read less
