My renewal was sent with a premium of £245 for the year, I had already agreed a sale of my bike, but the buyer could not collect until after my renewal date, for peace of mind I decided to keep the bike insured even though it was not being used and in safe storage. I explained this to the call handler that the bike would be gone in 14 – 18 days and I asked how best to move forward. I was advised rather than pay the full premium up front, pay a deposit of £45 and set up an agreement for monthly payment starting 3 months after the initial renewal, that way when I sold the bike I could cancel the instalment plan. Bike was sold 16 days in, I called to cancel, and they charged me another £115 , so with the £45 already paid = £160 for 16 days cover , I was totally mislead by the call handler , complete thieves! I bought "laid up insurance" as I had temporarily lost my licence due to a sight defect. I had no idea how long I would be suspended for. The insurance was rather expensive but I had to have it. I asked whether I could transfer the insurance to a normal comprehensive policy once my licence was reinstated. I was told that yes no problem - any balance left could be set against the new policy. I now have my licence back and contacted AF to set up a new policy. They quoted me a ridiculous amount of around £1000 which took into account my 9+ years of NCB. I had already researched the market and could get a comprehensive policy for around £215! I then asked for the policy to be cancelled and requested a refund for the unexpired portion of the premium paid. I was saddened to learn that "this was not possible" for laid up insurance and that they were very sorry that I had apparently been misinformed. I would definitely NOT recommend this company. Avoid as they are legalised thief's, I was given a quote, I accepted, they then said they gave wrong quote (£420 then went to £1400) I said no, cancel it, they said they will refund with £85 fee deducted, it was not due to start until old insurance ran out (2 week’s time) but no they still wanted £85, now I have all the hassle to get full refund through small claims court, nothing but con artists. Quoted me £450 online which I agreed and paid. Several days later they asked me to call them to validate the insurance and asked for an additional £380. On that basis I asked them to cancel the quote and to issue me with refund which they agreed to, but will be deducting an £80 admin fee out of it. This is despite the policy not being set up and being within the 14 day cooling off period. Absolute daylight robbery - NO NOT USE! Read more Read less

One to update my accommodation from a house to flat. The other was to update my NCB discount on another vehicle. Got charged an additional £70 because I had a 'For information only' Claim. No claim was made and no money transferred. Adrian flux charged £70, whereas when I informed other insurers for my other vehicles. They said this didn't matter and doesn't effect the policy as its for information only and no claim was made. They were the cheapest option for me, I now understand how they can quote so low. They'll make it up elsewhere after you've paid and if you want to back out within the 14-day cool off period, it will be £80 to cancel. Regret not cancelling at the first admin fee. Will not use them again and will choose a less budget provider. Read more Read less

You have been warned. Not only will they take the full amount from the finance company but will charge you a massive fee to cancel! Might be the cheapest policy but you will pay in the long run. Keep well away!!!!!! They have over £300 still available that was paid from the finance company and want to charge me over £120 more to cancel. Daylight robbery. #legal scam.. in effect a £400 policy for one year has worked out £500 for canceling. Really Adrian Flux? Read more Read less

I have recommended this company several times over the years my son has used them. However, my son has been poorly treated - treated quite ruthlessly actually - since he cancelled his policy in March. He is out of the country and emailed to say he had sold his car and didn't need the insurance any more and could they refund him anything that might be due. They apparently emailed back (he didn't receive it) to ask him to confirm again whether he definitely wanted to cancel, or whether they should carry the policy on against a "dummy registration". Whatever one of these is?! Can they even do this? Surely a new car = new policy? Upshot of this is that Adrian Flux did not cancel his policy in March as instructed, did not refund any monies due back to my son AND then renewed the policy for a car sold 4 months ago and took £500 out of his bank account this week! We are nowhere near sorting this mess out and I wanted to post this as a warning to any parents of younger people that they seem to need to be super careful with this company. I do not like how they have manipulated this situation with a young person not very experienced in formal communication, especially as he is so far from home and with an 8-hour time difference cannot communicate at all well. Always helpful and very informative. Came to this years renewal and my policy gone up by £140. When I spoken with a representative I have been explained that my policy is gone up because everyone else causes accidents and makes claims. This conversation puts me in a spot where if I let it slide theres no guarantee that next year they will not pull the same stunt again. Im not sure what world they living in as it’s very wrong to try to charge people on the basis that someone else is driving like a tool, made an arrangements elsewhere saved £240 on premium, strangely enough there’s plenty of brokers who does not increase their prices like flux did, very likely never be back.
