Really good company. Really good company. Better value than others and more included in the price. Also like the monthly draws! Reviewed on: 24th August 2024

Dreadful

1
Their sales service is excellent. Once they have your money, they don't want to know. I've been trying to make a claim for over a year now and they just keep sending me round in circles asking for the same paperwork that I've already sent twice. Next stop - the regulator. Dreadful. My holiday has been cancelled and Cover for You are making all sorts of excuses why they will not refund me. DO NOT TOUCH WIUTH A BARGE POLE. Reviewed on: 4th December 2020

Terrible Service - Basically Fraud

1
We booked our holiday and paid for travel insurance at the start of January. We wanted to make a claim for our holiday, as Government guidelines advise against non-essential travel, and due to the fact we have to quarantine/self-isolate in Greece for 7 days (which is the length of our holiday) and quarantine/self-isolate on the return for 14 days in the UK - this ruins our holiday and will financially effect our work when returning. CoverForYou are not interested in this and we are not covered for anything if it is considered a 'pandemic'. Terrible insurance company, not living up to the 5 star defaqto rating that they have. Will never use again. Reviewed on: 18th June 2020

rip off on refunds due to virus

1
this company will only refund 50% of an unused single trip policy , during this pandemic , they say they will move your policy forward , to another date , well thats impossible at the moment as we just dont know , their policy will cover nurses and all other key workers , shame on them and ceo Neil Wright Reviewed on: 14th April 2020

Good luck talking to anybody

1
Spent 40 min on hold to get transferred to the claims department and had the call immediately dropped (no hold). Twice. 2 hours gone. Used the live chat messaging service, provided ALL RELEVANT INFORMATION in the opening message. Waited 40 minutes for a response. Asked to provide the exact information already given because it wasn't read at all. Rep disappeared another 40 min. I sent another message asking if she was even there to be told the live chat service had ended 30 minutes prior. I wasted FOUR HOURS of my day trying to have ONE conversation. EDITED TO ADD: This is NOT in my policy documentation anywhere (I've even done ctrl+f searches to make sure, and read it seven times) but on the customer zone it states "Please note no cover is provided for any destination where, prior to your trip commencing, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office have advised against all (but essential) travel." This is a DELIBERATE SCAM. If there were no advisories prior to travel you WOULD BE TRAVELLING wouldn't you. You wouldn't be making a claim because you'd be travelling. The only reason (in this case, wrt coronavirus) you would be claiming is that advisories were issues BEFORE YOUR TRIP. Absolute laughing stock of a company. Cancelled for a refund. Received all money back for flight tickets for all my family due to illness

5
I bought their travel insurance just 3 days before traveling, as I suddenly discovered that travel insurance from my bank account is not provided anymore. Then 1 day before my travel with my family from London, UK to Vancouver, Canada my daughter became ill with high temperature (39.7). I had to cancel the trip altogether, as my daughter was ill for more than a week. I opened claim with CoverForYou and after I emailed them the letter from my GP confirming my daughter's illness and recommendation not to travel, they refunded to me the whole price of the flight tickets for my family which was £917.00 in total. They have not asked any additional questions and within 5 days the payment was transferred into my bank account. So I do recommend this company as honest, quickly responding and providing friendly service. Reviewed on: 16th January 2020

Chances are you are NOT covered if purchasing via Money Supermarket. On hold for 44 minutes.

1
Tried to call them today to discuss my policy, was on hold for 44 minutes. Ended up getting disconnected. Read other reviews stating this is common. Purchased insurance for a 10 day trip to USA. Overall cost £140. Ticked all relevant boxes on money supermarket where the quote was obtained. Made sure I ticked "respiratory" to indicate I suffer from Asthma. (which I barely do but as I have pre-scribed inhalers in the past I thought it best I let them know just incase they try wriggle out of a claim should anything happen). It was only today (day before we travel) did I discover we will NOT be covered as they didn't have it down on record I suffered from Asthma. I would have NOT known this had I taken the time to go out my way and let them know I had Asthma via email just to be sure. What if I needed to claim during my holiday? They made it pretty clear :- "You must tell us of all your pre-existing medical conditions. If you fail to declare all pre-existing medical conditions we may refuse to deal with or reduce the amount of any relevant claims, even if a claim is not related to an undisclosed pre-existing medical condition". I told them I did make this clear I had pre-existing conditions via the form I filled prior to purchasing however this is what the simply had to say:- "you will need to address this matter with this comparison site "Money Supermarket" as the condition is not showing on your certificate." So to conclude this review please make sure you check your cover even if you correctly filled out the form. Chances are you'll find like me you are not covered and hopefully find this out prior to traveling and not after. To make this clear, EVEN if you DID fill out the form for any pre-existing medical conditions double check with them as in my case here it's not been noted. Furthermore, they cannot "ammend" this on my policy, instead they now have to cancel and refund me meaning I have to wait up to 10 working days for a refund and spend another 40 minutes purchasing further cover else where. Chances are if this is how shadey they are during this process I would hate to imagine what they would be like to deal with should you need to claim. Reviewed on: 9th October 2019
