Momentum is holding my money and is asking ridiculous demands!

DON'T EVER USE MOMENTUM PREPAID CARD! Here is the reason why: Momentum is holding the REFUND money on my card for 4 months! On October 22, 2017, I got a refund back from Expedia for a canceled flight to my Momentum Visa card. Now it is February 15, 2018 and I still haven't been able get the money out of Momentum. Their reason for holding my fund is accusing me of money laundering. On September 2017, I used my sister debit card to purchase the flight ticket because I didn't have money in my card. Momentum claimed it couldn't verified the the refund with any purchase I made using my Momentum card. So they asked me to provide a Refund Receipt from Expedia and a Purchase Receipt. I did that and emailed them these two documents. Still they're asking for a Merchant Release Letter. I asked Expedia for a Merchant Release Letter and it has been five days, but still no reply back from Expedia. The point here is that Momentum makes it too difficult for their customers to get their refund back when a purchase gone wrong. Knowing how difficult it is to deal with Expedia, Momentum (Moneymart, CA) makes it even harder. DON'T USE "Momentum Prepaid Card Service"! Reviewed on: 15th February 2018

MEANING YOU HAVE TO WAIT 24-48 TO HAVE ACCESS TO YOUR OWN MONEY. THEY COST ME $100’s THEY TRIED TO ACCUSE THE MERCHANT AND THIS SITUATION I FACED THE MECHANT WAS THE MANAGER AND PROVE THEY WHERE LIEING AND MAKING FALSE ALLEGATIONS ALLOWED ME TO SCREENSHOT THEIR SCREEN. MOMENTUM GOT RUDE AND COULD NOT PROVE THEIR ACCUSSATION. THEN THEY SENT ME EMAIL SAYING VOID AS A THREAT AND TOLD ME OVER THE PHONE THAT I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO TAKE MY MONEY OUT THE ACCOUNT NOR SHUT IT DOWN-I STILL GOT MY MONEY AND CLOSED THE ACCOUNT PLEASE DONT END UP IN MY SITUATION DO NOT GET THIS CARD I HAVE ALL MY EVIDENCE IN BLACK AND WHITE WHAT THEY DONE TO ME DISGUSTING SET OF HUMANS THEY ARE NOT A REAL BANK AND WILL USE YOUR MONEY FOR 24-48hr BEFORE YOUR ABLE TO THATS FRAUDULENT Reviewed on: 13th June 2024

Different answer with every call to customer service. Card replacement ordered 24 days ago. No card. Replacement activated but not by me. So they ordered another without my consent. Was told I cannot close my account and request a check mailed to me. $700.00 balance and can't get anything but bs from this company. Reviewed on: 20th February 2024

I’ve been with momentum PP MC for I’m embarrassed to say 6 years now . My direct deposit never comes at midnight sir like some banks 2 days before . They charge you a Monthky fee of 9.99 they take it out l2 days before payday when even $$ counts . Many times went hungry with no food thinking I had a few dollars left but then declined at the store cause momentum took9.99 over drafting the account. S few months ago called and asked them if they could change the date for the monthly fee. They refused . After 6 years I’m gone F off Reviewed on: 16th November 2023

Been with momentum for years

I’ve been with momentum card for several years and although only a couple of really bad issues j regards to sending a replacement card two years ago that took a month to receive . They offer me nothing for being a member for this long . I asked they not take the monthly 9.99 fee in tbe 30th of the Month when I need every dollar available before payday they told me no . So I’m looking to part ways with them and can’t wait to make the call canceling my momentum card . There are much better options out there people this card company sucks Reviewed on: 23rd March 2022

do not use this card they restrict access to your money for a variety of reasons. they always throw the customer agreement in your face like anyone would agree to have their money held from them. Reviewed on: 29th October 2021

Hold On My Card

My Account Is On Hold Because I Did A Cashout And It Showed Up As A Refund Its My Job Earnings I Was Told That There Will Be A Case Filed For Suspicions...I Had To Email Them Proof Which I Had A Customer Rep From My Employment On The Phone To Explain To Momentum Customer Rep..& Still Was Denied My Funds...Its Going To Take 3 to 5 business Days For Me To Know Anything From Momentum This Is Awful That I Have To Go Thru This To Get My Funds... Feeling robbed

I tried making a purchase at home depot today and my card was declined although I had money on it. Luckily i had cash on hand to pay for my purchase. When I got home, I saw my card was hit 4 times for the amount I paid at home depot leaving me with a negative balance. I was told by Momentum customer service that there was a glitch on their end and they'll straighten it out but it will be around a week before I can have my money back. That was all the money I have until next payday, it was my paycheck that I had deposited on the card. They just told me "sorry, there is nothing we can do about it". I won't be using this card ever again nor will I recommend it to anyone. Reviewed on: 19th January 2018
