Practical, engaging way building Financial Skills.

I’ve found NatWest Rooster Money to be an excellent tool for helping my child develop real financial independence in a safe and structured way. The Rooster Card gives them a genuine sense of responsibility while still allowing me to guide and support their financial learning. One of the standout features for me is the ability to set up recurring payments. It’s a fantastic way to build consistency and routine, while also creating opportunities to teach the value of money over time. I particularly appreciate the flexibility to add “financial boosts” with personalised messages, helping to reward my child with a top-up bonus, along with my own words of encouragement. This can be added if say they help more around the house or do well in an exam and make the experience far more meaningful and motivating. The option is the customisation by allowing my children the chance to select their own card design, it is another great touch. Choosing a card that reflects their personality makes it feel truly theirs, which adds to their sense of ownership and pride. Beyond that, the built-in features aimed at teaching savings and goal-setting are incredibly valuable. The visual graphics that track spending and saving are especially effective, they provide a clear, engaging way for my children to understand where their money is going, while also helping them see the potential for saving. Overall, NatWest Rooster Money strikes a great balance between education and empowerment. It’s not just a card—it’s a practical, engaging way to build lifelong financial skills. Adults with learning difficulties or dementia would really benefit from this card. It must be possible to extend to this group and it would be a huge market as well as great PR Reviewed on: 28th March 2026
