Perfect bank account for setting up my small business

I set up a Mettle business account when first setting up my own business in 2025. I shopped around to compare lots of different bank accounts to see what would suit me best and Mettle seemed to tick all the boxes. I cannot fault the service in any way; it was so easy to set up, has access to great additional tools such as Freeagent and it has worked perfectly in supporting my new venture as self employed. I have only rated customer service as I have not needed to use this service as of yet. Reviewed on: 23rd February 2026

Mettle is really easy to use. As a new sole trader I have found it helpful and user friendly. I know there is even more information to explore if I need to and I like the pots I can use to organise my incomings. Reviewed on: 23rd February 2026

Ideal for the small business use.

Ideal for the small business use, especially for paying cash into the bank using a barcode so no need to remember a pin number. The software is easy to use, and does not cause stress at the end of a tax year. In all a brilliant bank to use. Reviewed on: 21st February 2026
